3Com came to Studio Red wanting a complete wireless networking system with a new visual identity, a distinct style breaking 3Com from their conservative paradigm.  Four individual elements make up the AirConnect system.  The challenge to maintain continuity among the varied components was achieved by repeating forms derived from the function of each part.

Studio Red's success in establishing a language for the AirConnect family earned the prestigious Chicago Athenaeum "Good Design 1996" Award and Permanent Exhibit status in the museum's Design Collection.
